At present, AnyTrans can help back up in the external drive while you modify the path. But i am truly sorry for it doesnot support to keep that settings. About our software, i will never take up a amount of memory on your computer. Given this rare situation, would you please check whether you once back up device data on your computer? If so, you can delete them from computer to release space whenever you want. It will be appreciated for your cooperaion.
